It was a beauty of aviation, streamlined and refined, but a lethal fighter at heart. Highlighting the Hunter's adaptability, the FGA.9 variant was developed in response to the RAF's requirement to replace the Venom ground attack aircraft in service with units in the Middle East and was essentially an F.6 cell optimised for close air support missions.
