The new 1:48 scale mold A11006 Westland Sea King HAS.1/HAS.5/HU.5 is undoubtedly the most complete Sea King kit ever released, featuring folding rotor blades and tail, retracted landing gear, complete interior including anti-submarine warfare equipment, open/closed door option, two radome types and two fuselage sections with an open option for dive sonar. In addition to these features, the kit consists of 348 sharply molded parts and four schematics of the XV666, which has an overall length of 460 mm and a rotor blade width of 397 mm. In June 1970, the XV666 left the Westland factory to begin a flying career that continues to this day. Starting life as a HAS.1 with 826 NAS, XV666 is still flying HeliOps in 2023. The four schemes in this kit represent the stages of her diverse career, spanning over 50 years of service. The Sea King features a highly detailed outer skin with fully riveted and overlapping panel detail, a fully detailed cockpit with raised detail on the control instruments and surfaces, and a highly detailed cabin with three different interiors to match the included schemes. Among these details, the kit also allows for the addition of searchlights and a full fit for each scheme. 4 different decal variations possible.
