The wet palette is a tool used primarily by miniature painters and modelers to keep acrylic paints moist and workable for long periods of time. It consists of an airtight container that contains a moistened sponge covered with special moisture-permeable paper sheet. The container consists of a lid and a bottom with a rubber gasket that lasts for a long time for waterproofing and the moisture inside. The sponge is placed in the soil and the water needed for moistening is added. The moisture sponge is one of the most important components of a wet pallet. Its main function is to store water and constantly moisturize the moisture paper, preventing the acrylic paints from drying out. The moisture-retaining paper allows the moisture from the sponge to reach the surface and is strong enough to prevent decay or decomposition when it comes into contact with the paint.
