1/35 German Steamloco BR86

The legendary BR 86 steam locomotive was manufactured to a 1925 specification for an axle load of 15 tons for use on all branch lines, particularly hilly and mountainous terrain, engineered to a 'regional' design which led to problems with maintenance and spare parts. The standardization of parts and components solved these problems with the war locomotive version. The BR 86 holds the record in Germany for the longest production run of any locomotive ever made, with a total of 776 locomotives built. From 1939 these locomotives were also used in Austria, Poland and the Soviet Union. After the Second World War, the Czechoslovak State Railways operated a total of 65 locomotives confiscated as war booty and reparations. By 1960, most of these were retired. Length built: 393.7 mm.
