The 3-axle sliding tarpaulin wagons type Las, later Lails/Lailps, were built from 1974 onwards by SNAV in cooperation with EVS on the basis of the chassis of a 3-axle car transporter already built by SNAV itself. They were initially purchased by EVS (France) and Indesit (Italy), later also by Transfesa (Spain) - in the version with variable gauge axles introduced in 1976 - and by Ausiliare Milano (Italy). In the following years, further sub-series with small variations were delivered. Over time, some of these wagons were also leased or sold to other companies, with corresponding changes to the logos. They are still used today for the transport of large palletised goods that need to be transported protected from the weather and require a large stowage space for loading, either in homogeneous compositions or in isolated units together with wagons of other designs.
