From 1952, the Opel Blitz, built from 1930 onwards, was given a new, contemporary look. The design was very similar to the American pick-ups of the time. The vehicle, which was now designed for a payload of 1.75 tonnes, was available as a panel van and as a flatbed truck. In addition, special bodies such as turntable ladders, towing cranes and beverage flatbeds were also offered. The vehicle, popularly known as the soft lightning, was powered by a six-cylinder gasoline engine and had an impressive 58 hp.
