In 1934, the Deutsche Reichsbahn ordered four C-coupled locomotives from AEG and three from BBC/Kraus Maffei. The AEG locomotives differ visually from the BBC engines in the angular and flatter stems, were somewhat slower but had more power with 725 kW. After delivery, the locomotives were stationed in Munich and Stuttgart. At DB, the locomotives ran in Augsburg, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Munich and Stuttgart. In 1960/61, the locomotives were extensively modernised and were given marshalling platforms and additional windows as well as the red paint of the DB. From 1976-79, the locomotives, which had been renamed BR 163 from 1968, were retired. The last locomotive is No. 163 002. E63 01 and E63 02 are still preserved as museum locomotives. Running number: E63 01 BD Stuttgart / Bw Stuttgart Operating condition 1964 Model: - Bell armature motor with flywheel - Current consumption across all axes - Digital model with DCC board and buffer memory - Light change (white/red) - Close coupling kinematics - Consideration of all design differences in detail
