Between 1918 and 1923, SBB procured over 1000 of the open L6 freight wagons. They were initially used for the transport of coal, but also for other weather-sensitive goods. The L6 were built with wooden and steel walls as well as with and without brakeman's cab. Based on the L6, SBB procured wagons with raised side walls for transporting trunk wood and scrap. Of the car, which was classified as Fbkk, 318 were built.
