Set of 2 Habfis Railadventure Coupling Cars, Ep.VI

The VT18.16 are high-quality multiple units and were intended in particular for international use. They were built from 1963 by VEB Waggonbau Görlitz. The vehicles were used in international traffic to Scandinavia, Austria and Czechoslovakia. The train route was known as Vindobona via Prague to Vienna. The trains to and from Scandinavia ran with only two intermediate cars due to the length of the railway ferries. The SVTs of this class last ran to Vienna in 1979 as Vindobona – the reason for this was the compensation payments of the ÖBB, as they no longer had suitable railcars for regular use for this connection. The last international missions were in the early 1980s as Karlex and Karola in Karlovy Vary.
