Plastic model kit of a British fighter plane from the 1930s with 138 parts. Various decal variants are included. Length built 155 mm / width 215 mm. The Bristol Bulldog, a gleaming silver aircraft flown by Britain's most capable and daring young men, was one of the most important British aircraft of the interwar period, when powerful biplane fighters ruled the skies undisputedly. Originally developed as a private project of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, the Bulldog was the brainchild of accomplished aircraft designer Frank Barnwell, the man behind the successful Bristol F.2B fighter of the First World War. It was a light all-metal fighter with fabric covering, powered by a 440 hp Bristol Jupiter engine. The Bulldog was armed with two forward-firing .303 caliber Vickers machine guns mounted on either side of the cockpit. However, during her relatively short seven-year service with Fighter Command, she never saw action. Although it was the most capable fighter of its time, the Bulldog was more associated with demanding formation flights and spectacular aerobatic displays by the Royal Air Force, which thrilled huge audiences at air shows and parades across the country, demonstrating the capabilities of a modernizing air force. New parts (especially for A05145): • Wide-gauge chassis with metal wheels and tail wheel • Tail fin and rudder of newer design • Optional exhaust system with cabin heater and cartridge collection containers •New cylinder heads matching the type of the Bulldog Mk.IIa's Bristol Jupiter VIIF engine • New parts for the external oil cooler Features (as in the original version): • Subtle fabric skin effect • Multi-part cockpit with fuselage framework, ammunition containers and machine gun bolts • Developed based on exclusive access to over 1000 original Bristol drawings • Details include camera cannon, wing generators, bomb mount and landing flare
