"Plastic model kit of a British WWII fighter plane. A few weeks after D-Day, an article appeared in a newspaper reporting that our guys at the front had only watery cider and poisoned water at their disposal. Unfortunately, no replacement transport aircraft were available to bring non-essential goods to the front landing sites. As a result, several squadrons that previously operated from the airfields on the south coast are said to have participated in the operation. After the initial use of long-distance tanks, the next method was to fly beer in kegs. A modification was made that made it possible to transport the barrel on the bomb carriers of the Spitfires. Pilots of RAF Squadron No. 131 (Poland) claimed to have invented the idea of the ""beer bomb"" by using barrels with homemade nose tips to make them more aerodynamic. The ""beer bombs"" were adopted by the Canadians and the USAF during the war. Included in this special edition are highly detailed resin parts required to faithfully recreate the beer-carrying Spitfires ""Flying Drays"". -2 x beer kegs, including lid and barrel ends - 2 x nose cones (available information suggests that these were probably made from the rear end of a P-51 drop tank) - 2 x bomb racks - 1 x slip tank. Also in this version is an external canopy masking kit for the clear parts and a special edition pint glass, dedicated to ML208, one of the aircraft known to have participated in these missions."
