The Greek War of Independence (1821-1827) is best known for the naval battle of Navarino. This war was characterised by the numerous engagements of the Greek privateers against the Turkish-Egyptian ships. These Gauls were very fast, with swallow draughts, they could hide in the narrow gulfs of the Aegean islands and then attack the Turkish ships. This highly detailed kit includes die-cut keels, frames and decks, planking, masts and spars, metal and wooden fittings, wooden inlays, cloth for the sails, flags, rudders and metal guns.
